Hi Kati! To start, could you tell us a little about yourself and how you became part of the Seekers Notes community?
Hello! I’m Kati and I’ve been playing as a Seeker in Darkwood for about five years now. I’m very talkative and love the chance to connect with other Seekers in the fan group — it’s a fantastic place for exchanging ideas and making friends. One thing I find really fascinating is how every magical card in the game is as unique as a fingerprint, and how each Seeker exists only once in Darkwood, in their very special way.
What first drew you to Seekers Notes?
I’ve always enjoyed Hidden Object and Match-3 games, so when I got a new tablet about five years ago, I stumbled upon Seekers Notes in the app store and decided to give it a try. The opening scene with Atlas (who didn’t even have a name back then!) caught my eye. The beautiful graphics, the well-designed locations, and the avatars you can earn all impressed me. And I simply love the treasure chest puzzle — it quickly became my favorite, so I just kept playing!
Have there been any events or updates that stand out as your favorites?
I follow the story closely and particularly enjoy the love stories. Every update feels exciting and fresh, but my absolute favorite event is Darkwood Mail. Receiving personal messages from friends all around the world truly delights me. Although Seekers Notes is technically a hidden object game, the real magic for me is playing together and sharing moments with other players. In short, my experience thrives on you, not me.
What advice do you have for new players just starting their journey through Darkwood?
My best advice is to try everything, see what resonates with you, stay curious, and don’t hesitate to ask questions if something’s unclear. Then, focus on what you enjoy most. When I finished the main story the first time, I asked myself, “What now?” Since there were no new quests, I had to get creative and set my own goals. I love numbers and collecting, so creating my own little collections became a fun purpose. Also, the stickers in the chat add an extra bit of joy and humor — don’t overlook them!
Has playing the game influenced you personally? Have you made any connections along the way?
Absolutely! After about two years, I found the courage to visit friends in their guilds. It was fascinating to see their gaming worlds and groups. Thanks to a language translation app, I got to connect with guilds from Korea, France, Spain, Japan, China — and of course Germany and England. It made the whole game much bigger and more exciting for me.
Are there any moments or achievements in Seekers Notes that are especially memorable for you?
One very special event for me was the 9th birthday creative competition. It was so much fun participating and reminded me how much I love drawing. Picking up my pencil again felt wonderful.
What role has the community played in your Seekers Notes experience?
The community is incredibly important. Sharing funny moments, achievements, or asking for help in the fan group makes the game richer. I actually started with a post about the Pool Lion, and it turned into a whole hat collection — it’s amazing how these small interactions grow into something bigger, lol!
Looking ahead to the 10th anniversary and beyond, what are your hopes for the future of the game?
Over the years, the Seeker’s map has grown a lot, with 12 new, beautifully designed locations added every year. I love discovering fresh places, but sometimes I wonder how long that pace can be maintained. Still, I love Seekers Notes dearly and hope it will continue to thrive for many more years.
Any parting thoughts or messages for fellow Seekers?
Darkwood is as lovable and wonderful as the people who play it and those who create it. The energy and time everyone invests makes it come alive, and for that, I’m very grateful. Thank you for giving me the chance to share my personal gameplay experience. And of course — congratulations on the soon-to-be 10th anniversary!
— Kati
